The dedicated competition site and Official Rules allow for-profit and nonprofit companies; an older Girl Tech HQ overview says for-profit only. Nonprofit applicants should confirm with [email protected]. A deck and 60–90-second founder video are optional. Entry is free, with no membership purchase required.
New applicants enter the competition through the open application. Selected semifinalists pitch virtually December 1–6; December 1 is the first day of that window, not an assigned pitch time. The championship is planned for Denver in March 2027, with an approved virtual option. The winner receives $1,000 cash plus advisory services valued at $5,000; this is not a $6,000 cash prize.
